2009 Awards Announcement and Presentation
The 2009 National Awards for Excellence in School Music Education were announced by Ms Jodie Campbell MP, Member for Bass, representing The Hon Julia Gillard MP, Minister for Education, at the ASME XVII National Conference in Launceston, Tasmania. on 11th July 2009. One School Leader Award and twelve Teacher Awards including one Highly Commended Teacher Award were announced by Ms Campbell MP.
Highly Commended Teacher
In this year's award round the Highly Commended Teacher award was presented to Mrs Loretta Simmonds, Music Specialist at Moil Primary School, Moil, Darwin, Northern Territory.
