Privacy Statement
ASME respects your privacy.
Protecting your personal information is important to us. Although the Society is not covered by the requirements of the new Commonwealth Privacy Laws (having a turnover of less than $3 million and not liable under any other provision) we believe it is important that we meet the guidelines laid down in the new laws.
At ASME we only collect information which is necessary to administer your membership. Information we collect is used to ensure that your status as a financial member is recorded, to send regular mail outs and to keep you up to date with the various activities provided by ASME.
The membership details are strictly confidential. We do not make them available to any outside organisation or allow any person except designated office personnel and Council members to consult them. Memberships forms are destroyed after seven years in accordance with the requirements of the Australian Taxation Office and the Registrar-General’s Office (ACT). As a member of ASME you may ask to see the information held about you.
