Liese has been a highly respected and successful music teacher in Alice Springs for twenty years where she has worked in all of the government schools across the K-12 range. She has presented in-service training and workshops to classroom teachers as well as conducting school bands, teaching instrumental music, conducting and accompanying choirs within the community.
She is working as an instrumental conductor and co-ordinator of students from six different schools, a tutor in instrumental and choral music with the Alice Springs School of the Air, and an organiser of an annual concert bringing together all the students in the various programs.
Her community focus is shown in her directorship of the Alice Springs Town Band and her success in bringing musical experiences to students through the Interactive Distance Learning system. Liese is respected by her colleagues for her ability to meld, instruct and conduct diverse groups as well as for her obvious commitment as a music teacher in the wide community in which she works.
